The International Ice Centre offers figure skating
instruction for all levels of skater, even the most advanced
competitor. You'll find our skating instructors are highly skilled
and well recognized in the figure skating world.
Jamie Whyte is one of International Ice Centre’s
featured skating academy instructors. He is the facility’s
advanced instructor for Ice Dance, Moves-in-the-Field, Footwork
and Choreography. Jamie excels at incorporating footwork and
choreography elements to comply with the new systems in place
for Freestyle and Ice Dance.

Jamie is an expert in physical conditioning for aspiring skaters
and serious competitors, working on both on- and off-ice techniques.
Jamie has competed on the JGP circuit and at the Junior World
Championships. He has worked with World and Olympic coaches
Joan Slater and Marika Humphreys-Baranova. Jamie has gained
a wealth of knowledge working with some of the best coaches
in skating and takes great pleasure on passing on that expertise
to his students.
Yevgeny Martynov is an example of international
experience available through our facility. He has competed throughout
Europe and the United States and skated professionally for years.

Yevgeny’s wife, Maryna, also works with students to provide
her own perspective on teaching and training. She specializes
in choreography, providing artistic finish to Yevgeny’s
technical training. Maryna works with single skaters, pairs
and ice dancers. She has worked with figure skaters at all levels
of competition: Olympic, World, European, Junior World, Sectional,
Junior National and Regional.
