The
International Ice Centre has the only goalie training facility
in the western suburbs. The training facility is made up of
four full-sized hockey nets and crease areas with automated
puck shooting machines.
Our training equipment is state-of-the-art.
It can be set to help even the youngest net-minder. Or, it can
be 'cranked-up' to hone the skills of the hottest pro prospect.
Our Boni training machine is perfect for
helping young goal keepers. Coaches may use it to help keepers
work on the weaker part of their goalies’ game. Or, goalies
can come in on their own and he or she just needs more work
‘between the pipes.’ Exact puck speed can be chosen
to offer more game-like conditions. And to keep you on your
toes, puck placement may also be specified to help keepers work
on the ‘hole’ that’s negatively affecting
their game.
Varying shot speed, placement and interval
will give you or your developing keeper an NHL-level workout.
International Ice Centre’s Goalie
Training Facility gives you the opportunity to work on your
game or under the supervision of our Goalie Instructor, Michael
Gedzun and video tape your session. We’ll provide you
with a Video to analyze at home or to review with your coach.
Many goalies have found this method of
self-analysis incredibly helpful. Seeing yourself under fire
will help you to better understand your tendencies and to correct
some of the flaws that are driving-up your goals against average.
Nothing takes the place of personal coaching.
Having a knowledgeable, professional evaluate your game, giving
you advice and corrective measures is the fastest path to your
next shutout.
International Ice Centre can set up cost-effective
training blocks for visiting coaches. Hockey clubs, high schools,
colleges or goal tender coaches can obtain discounted rates
by reserving training blocks of 2-hours or more – back-to-back
or concurrently.
Over 20
years of coaching and playing experience!
