Little Huskies' Scooter - Pond Hockey
is old school hockey fun - just some ice, a bunch of buddies
and some friendly competition. The only difference between true
pond hockey and the Scooter version at the International Ice
Centre is that our coaches play too. They're there to ensure
that everyone has fun, to reinforce some of the things your
Little Huskie has learned, and to make sure everyone touches
the puck. Coaches have been known to set up beautiful scoring
chances for Little Huskies, while getting 'deke'd 'on defense
by flashy moves.
Scooter-Teams are formed from the Little
Huskies classes and once a week they get to try out their new
skills that we've worked on in class. Teams rotate to play against
different competition every week.
Our goal is to develop an understanding
of team game-play. We strive to help Little Huskies gain confidence
in their puck handling skills, shooting, passing and checking
in an atmosphere of friendly competition at team-level play.
Little Huskies learning how to interact with their teammates
and developing their own personalities are all part of the learning
experience of Scooter - Pond Hockey. It's old school fun!

Our Drills for Skills clinics are designed
for House League players who aspire to move up in competition
and for Travel Club players who want to hone their skills. You
can’t get too much of a good thing!
Our clinics are high intensity one-hour sessions designed to
help skaters develop new skills and perfect existing ones. High
repetition drills enable our instructors to assess the needs
of each player and provide personalized instruction for maximum
results.
Drills are designed to reinforce all facets of your game: skating,
stick-handling, passing, shooting, checking and game-skills.

This part of the Little Huskies Program
is intended for Advanced Pre-Hockey players and is divided into
Mite and Squirt divisions. Mites are players 8-years old and
younger, while Squirts are players 9 to 10 years of age.
Players entering the league are evaluated and placed on teams
which compete once a week with other Huskie teams throughout
the session. This program is designed to help your player develop
game-level skills and an understanding of the rules, position-play
and game strategies. Applying their knowledge and skills in
game-level competition helps a player further develop into a
competitive hockey player. But the Little Huskies still make
sure that the experience is fun as well as competitive.
The In-House League is also an opportunity for Huskie parents
to learn. Little Huskies uses the In-House League to develop
parent-coaches, their understanding of our techniques and how
to help players learn in game-level situations. Parent coaches
are guided by Rocky Saganiuk and his staff. He helps train parent
coaches to understand what to expect from players at each level
and how to help reinforce what they’ve learned in training
sessions.
Little Huskies builds better players and better coaches through
its In-House league. It is a positive, enriching experience
for both player and parent.
